About Us
The Name ConstructoGroup

When searching for a company name in 2003, I spotted a cardboard sign written with black marker, reading "Constructo People," underlined by an arrow pointing up a side lane. Later, discussing the name with my 12 year old son, Ward, he was still a moment, then with a strong gesture, struck his fist to his chest and into the air, exclaiming "I, I am El Constructo!, and you, you are my faithful helper." There was no going on to other names after that -- until incorporating in 2008, when the BC incorporation people insisted something be put ahead of the word ConstructoGroup to make the name unique! Submitting many brilliant names, entering A1 to fill up the form, the only one approved was - A1 CONSTRUCTOGROUP LTD. - now our legal name. However, we still operate by the name ConstructoGroup.

When meeting a client for the first time, she explained that she planned to select a contractor based on the contractor's core values, which inspired me to identify our core values. After a company lunch and huge banana splits at Pluto's, we agreed that well-being is our highest priority. We believe that improving your home improves your life - your wellbeing. Our goal is to deliver more wellbeing value to you than it costs you in money and in doing so earn a good living, build a good business and enjoy wellbeing too.

Kathy Price joins ConstructoGroup to provide a woman led renovation team for ConstructoGroup. Kathy will be the connection between the Client/s and ConstructoGroup employees, specialty contractors and design consultants. Kathy is an Architectural Technician and certified Built Green BC Builder with 15 years construction experience in Quality Control and Customer Relations apprenticed with leading construction firms here in Victoria.
